:::OMG when he means "crewman" the term describes someone part of the crew!![[User:Infinity112|Infinity112]] 23:50, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Pure speculation on my part, but seeing as the United States Navy rank is "Seaman" (as well as the subordinate ranks of Seaman Apprentice and Seaman Recruit), it makes sense that the rank has been renamed to crewman in the UNSC, as Naval personnel now work on spaceships as opposed to sea-fairing vessels. Facts Confirmed

  • On 12:36, 21 October 2006 (UTC) Esemono had some issues with this article, including, "Is this really stated anywhere or are you using the American ranking system as your basis?". However on 23:35, 21 January 2007 (UTC) they were resolved:

I don't know if it actually mentions any of the three examples as being Crewmen, but I would say that it may be correct because I am too lazy to reread all of that chapter of Halo: The Flood. Also, don't forget: Letter - RE:UNSC Ranking System.--Rot 2000 9.12.06
