The Section Chiefs[1] are the heads of the sections within the UNSC Navy's Office of Naval Intelligence. From 2512 to August 2530, Vice Admiral Michael Stanforth served as the Section Chief of Section Three of the Office of Naval Intelligence, notably being in charge of the planning and implementation of the SPARTAN-II program during this time, though stepped down to return to UNSC Fleet Command and defend the Inner Colonies from the Covenant.[2][3] Following the Human-Covenant War, the Section Chiefs competed for the office of Commander-in-Chief of the Office of Naval Intelligence when they learned that the incumbent Admiral Margaret Parangosky was grooming Serin Osman to succeed her.[1]
