A Sangheili slitherer was a lifeform indigenous to Sanghelios in the earliest days of the Covenant. Slitherers were known to feed on hopping slugs by swallowing them whole, which would make a slitherer appear engorged or swollen while the slug waited to be digested. An early form of Covenant corvette was noted by Vil 'Kthamee to resemble a recently-fed slitherer due to the shape of its midsection.[1]
