— Paul

Paul was a civilian reporter for the UNSC.

Background[edit]

Paul was attached to the UNSC Spirit of Fire during the 2526 campaign to retake Harvest from the Covenant. He was sent in order to gain material for UNSC propaganda, but also hoped to find his wife, Carol, and his children there safe and alive at Tigard.[1]

They were presumed killed during the glassing of Harvest, though he continued to look for signs that they had somehow managed to survive.[2] After finding his hometown of Tigard a devastated wasteland, he punched the nearby Forerunner relic secured by the UNSC out of rage and grief, blaming its presence and the Covenant's interest in it for the death of his family.[3]

Production notes[edit]

Paul is a recurring character in several short stories published by Halo wars writer Graeme Devine in an effort to better build the world for the development team. The stories are self-described "fan fiction", and as such do not constitute official Halo canon.
