The Palace of Pain was a location on one of the twelve original Halo installations, specifically the one that the Forerunner artificial intelligence 05-032 Mendicant Bias was tasked with overseeing during his mission to destroy the Flood. During the Forerunner-Flood war,the Palace of Pain became the stronghold of the Timeless One, the last surviving Precursor.[1]
