New Constantinople is a human colony world in the Thrace system, governed by the Unified Earth Government.[1]

History[edit]

New Constantinople was colonized by the Unified Earth Government in 2436.[1]

In early 2537,[2] a major battle between the United Nations Space Command and the Covenant occurred in the planet's system. Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb distinguished himself in this engagement,[3] as did the Spartan-IIIs from Alpha Company.[4][5] Despite the success of the UNSC Navy, the Covenant returned to New Constantinople in 2539 and glassed the colony.[1]

Trivia[edit]

The planet is named after the capital city of the former Roman, and Byzantine Empires, Constantinople.
