| Some think that all three Brute Captain Ranks are equal, but that is not true. Others mistake which color signifies which rank. As stated on Bungie Player Stats, the Captain Regulars have ''violet'' power armor, Captain Majors have ''gold'' power armor, and Captain Ultras have ''cyan armor'' as shown above.

| Captain Ultra are very strong; it can take multiple hits from any non-explosive weapon to kill them. However, the [[Spartan Laser]] and grenade sticks will still usually kill them in one hit. A single [[Plasma Grenade]] can kill them. If it does not, aim for the head. Ultras are rare in lower difficulties but more common on [[Heroic]] and [[Legendary]]. They are generally seen leading lesser brutes and grunts in battle. The cyan color can be mistaken for a [[Brute Bodyguard]]'s, which is indigo in color.
