Halo Theme Gungnir Mix is the first track included in the first disc of the Halo 2 Anniversary Original Soundtrack. It is a new rendition of Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix from the Halo 2: Original Soundtrack, and, like the original, features Steve Vai as a soloist. Its name alludes to Project GUNGNIR. It is used as opening credits music for the audiobooks Halo: Broken Circle, Halo: New Blood, Halo: Hunters in the Dark, and Halo: Saint's Testimony.
