First Squad[1] was a United Nations Space Command Marine Corps military unit operating in 2552.
It was stationed in the Kenyan jungle of Africa, Earth during the Battle of Earth and was part of the Marine force that found SPARTAN-117 after his atmospheric landing. When SPARTAN-117 was revived, during the UNSC extraction operation from the jungle Sergeant Major Avery J. Johnson assumed command of First Squad, ordering them to deploy and move out as his scouts.
First Squad was presumably extracted with Johnson via Pelican Dropship and taken prisoner by the Brutes in the subsequent interception of their dropship.
First squad was lead by Gunnery Sergeant Stacker before Johnson assumed command.
