Summary
Commitment and Patience was mentioned in the Conversations from the Universe booklet included with the special edition of Halo 2.
It is in contact with the Covenant battle cruiser Sacred Promise and its fate was recorded on the Black box of that ship.
Sacred Promise requested fighter support from Commitment and Patience, however a "projectile" hit the vessel and ruptured a fuel cell, instantly vaporizing the whole ship. It is unknown what the vessels were engaging, but it is possibly a UNSC vessel with its MAC gun that destroyed the ship.
Its name and the fact that it carried fighters suggests that Commitment and Patience was a capitol ship, perhaps a CCS-class battle cruiser or carrier.
