Internal security amendment
At some point before 2525, the UNSC amended the charter to facilitate security in the event of a crisis. The Internal Security Amendment is a piece of legislation to the UNSC Colonial Charter, which includes at least two sections. Section two of the amendment, in particular, allowed the ranking military officer of a colony to strip the colonial governor of title and privilege. During the First Battle of Harvest, Jilan al-Cygni referenced the eighth paragraph of the second section which legally enabled her to assume military control of the planet Harvest, overriding even the colonial Governor, Nils Thune.[1]
