Genemender Folder of Fortune was a Forerunner Lifeworker stationed on Installation 07 during the Forerunner-Flood war.[1] He was tasked by the Librarian with gathering all of the humans from Erde-Tyrene and "archiving" their personalities so that their genetic memory imprints could not be acquired by the Master Builder, killing their physical bodies in the process. He also did the same for himself to avoid having to serve the Master Builder, becoming an ancilla stored within a monitor shell.[2]
In order to refresh the archived personalities and keep company for the ape Mara, Genemender occasionally allowed the humans to appear as monitor-based hard light holograms like himself and simulate physical interaction.[3] After he encountered Chakas, Vinnevra and Gamelpar, he took them in the compound, itself largely composed of hard light projections.[4] Shortly after Chakas and the others found out the truth about the Genemender and the archived humans, the monitors powered down.[5]
