After ~~capturing a former elite qualomme~~. ~~he told them that~~ the ~~forerunner had left a weapons cache on halo~~. ~~After~~ the ~~information~~ he ~~took fire team charlie and another fire team to a swamp where~~ the ~~cache is but~~ it ~~was really the flood containment facilities~~ and ~~all~~ of ~~fire team charlie except johnson where turned~~ into ~~flood combat forms~~.

After reaching the Truth and Reconciliation's Control Room, Fire Team Charlie stayed there to keep the area secure while the Master Chief went on to find Captain Keyes. Somewhere along the line, two Stealth Elites armed with [[Energy Sword]]s snuck into the Control Room and killed all the Marines. When the Master Chief came back he discovered this, he immediatly shot one of the Elites with his Sniper Rifle, killing it, and unloaded an entire clip of Assault Rifle ammo into the other one.

Fire Team Charlies death weighs heavliy on the Chief's mind, as he feels they were his responsiblity.
