MX-1050 Quantum Plane Translocation Marker-Local/Hybrid: Difference between revisions

The device was developed by the [[Office of Naval Intelligence]]'s [[teleportation grid|translocation grid]] testing conducted on a variety of [[Forerunner]] installations. Currently, in testing, it is ultimately intended to be used for the immediate transportation of assets from hostile environments. After enclosing an asset in a [[slipspace]]-shielded containment using [[Slipspace crate|slipspace crate]]s, operators dispatch a translocation beacon using the marker. Within seconds, the containment unit is sent offsite to a precalibrated receiver node. Although native translocation technology allows the transportation of organic mater, operators are expressly forbidden to use the MX-1050 in this manner due to it being unproven and extremely dangerous.{{Ref/Reuse|evg}}

By [[2560]], a similar (albeit more advanced) "[[Quantum Translocator]]" prototype was undergoing similar research by the UNSC.
