'''Season 3: Recon''' is the third [[season]] implemented into ''[[Halo: The Master Chief Collection]]''. The Season debuted on [[2020#September|September 21, 2020]],{{Ref/Note|This article uses the [[Wikipedia:Pacific Time Zone|Pacific Time Zone]] to determine the release date.}} with the launch of ''[[Halo 3: ODST]]'' as part of the collection on [[Steam]] and [[Windows]]. Although launched alongside ''Halo 3: ODST'', the cosmetic unlocks available focus on adding new [[Skins (Halo 3)|skins]] for ''[[Halo 3|Halo 3's]]'' multiplayer alongside new [[Nameplates/Halo: The Master Chief Collection|nameplates]] and [[Armor permutations (Halo 3: ODST)|Firefight characters]]. This season was preceded by [[Season 2: Spark]] and followed by [[Season 4: Reclaimer]] with the launch of ''[[Halo 4]]'' on for PC on November 16, 2020. The season's logo is a stylised representation of [[Veronica Dare]]'s helmet.

Alongside the standard ''Halo 3: ODST'' [[Armor permutations (Halo 3: ODST)|characters]] available to unlock for {{SeasonPoint|}}, four additional Firefight skins were made exclusive to Season 3's timed [[Challenges/Halo: The Master Chief Collection|challenges]]. These skins are ones found in the game's [[campaign]] as a consequence of events during the game's story, but left unused in the Firefight mode in the game's original [[Xbox 360]] release. Later on in [[Season 6: Raven]], they were made purchasable in [[The Exchange]] on a weekly rotation for {{SeasonPoint|2}} each.
