Originally named Maddie, her name was changed after British gamers erroneously connected the subliminal message "Maddie, where are you?" in the "Prepare to Drop" trailer with the disappearance of toddler Madeleine McCann. The ensuing controversy was widely lambasted, especially by American gamers, since although the McCann case was extremely high-profile in the UK at the time, it was almost unheard of in the US; many British people failed to recognize this. Nonetheless, Bungie bowed to pressure, likely deciding changing one name was inconsequential, and Maddie Endesha became Sadie Endesha.

Sadie Endesha is a civilian in New Mombasa during 2552.

She is the main character of a meta-game titled Sadie's Story in Halo 3: ODST.[1] Through her point of view, players would be able to see what New Mombasa was like before and during the Covenant attack, and before the arrival of the ODSTs.

Her father is Dr. Endesha.

Originally named Maddie, her name was changed after the subliminal message "Maddie, where are you?" in the "Prepare to Drop" trailer caused complaints as it was unintentionally synonymous with the disappearance of British toddler Madeleine McCann.
