UNSC Chevalier (hull classification symbol CBC-5) was a cruiser in service with the UNSC Navy attached to the Home Fleet, towards the end of the Human-Covenant War.[1]

History

In preparation for the Battle for Earth in 2552, Fleet Admiral Joseph Harper had UNSC Chevalier deploy a security team to the orbital defense platform Cairo Station in preparation for the arrival of Fleet Admiral Terrence Hood, who intended to use Cairo Station as his headquarters. The security team was later assessed before Hood arrived.[1]

Behind the scenes

Chevalier is French for knight.

Note

  1. ^ Although Chevalier's class is not stated, the hull classification symbol CBC is a retired United States Navy designation for a large command cruiser (cf. USS Hawaii [CBC-1]). As the UNSC Navy's light and heavy cruisers respectively use the hull codes C and CA, and no other cruiser types are known to have been in service with the UNSC Navy during the Covenant War, Chevalier may be a Valiant-class super-heavy cruiser, particularly in light of the Valiant class' frequent use in a command capacity.
