The Tin Cup is available on the map Sandbox in Halo 3 and the maps Forge World, Anchor 9, Breakpoint, and Tempest in Halo: Reach. It is part of a set of golf items that include the 7 wood and the Golf Ball.

It is, essentially, a hole with a flag in it surrounded by grass. If a Golf Ball touches the green, it rolls up and into the hole.

In Halo 3, the Tin Cup is composed of a triangular red flag on a metal pole, featuring a Grunt within the logo of the PGGA, similar to the 7 wood. In Halo: Reach, it is a blue hologram of a flag and pole.

In the Halo 3 component of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the triangular PGGA flag was replaced with a rectangular, blank flag.

Trivia[edit]

Some gamers originally thought that hitting the Golf Ball into the Tin Cup would reveal the location of the Sandbox skull, but Bungie later denied this, and claimed that players would have to search for the skull as one would with any other skulls.[citation needed]
