I've found this template a bit unpractical thus far, especially due to its differentiation between governments and movements; political, religious and private factions, etc. I think often times these factions are not that clear-cut, and it's not necessarily instinctive. I'd like to suggest an alternative template, which is more based on themed groups. For example, if you're searching for the Ussans, you don't have to guess that it's a "contemporary movement that is political". Just check the few Covenant-related categories. The template is obviously subject to minor tweaks. Imrane-117 (talk) 13:04, 28 January 2015 (EST)

:I agree this template should have more in the way differentiation; it's not very intuitive to group the Insurrection-era factions with the Frieden, Koslovics or Ussans. While eschewing umbrella categories like the Covenant or humans is more neutral or "realistic", in a way, the reality of the Halo setting so far quite firmly favors that sort of division for the most part (any mixed groups are still a rarity), not to mention it's far more informative. Besides, as you said, the specific nature of the factions we see often isn't clearly defined, or they may occupy more than one of the categories currently used in the template, which makes the current differentiation rather unintuitive. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 12:46, 29 January 2015 (EST)
