Is it actually fake? I know that it was used as a cover for Johnson but i didn't think the disease was fake. Dr. Halsey wouldn't have fallen for a fake disease, so Borons must exist and have been a good enough excuse for non assimulation by the Flood.  [[Special:Contributions/217.42.247.171|217.42.247.171]] 16:16, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

:Yup, it's fake. It was stated to be fake in the [[Halo Encyclopedia (2009 edition)]], which also stated that all the Spartan-Is were said to have the illness to cover up their augmentations and involvement in the project. -  [[User:Halo-343|<span style="color: purple; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 128%;">'''Halo-343'''</span>]] [[User talk:Halo-343|<font color="red"><nowiki>(</nowiki>'''Talk'''<nowiki>)</nowiki></font>]] [[Special:Contributions/Halo-343|<font color="orange"><nowiki>(</nowiki>'''Contribs'''<nowiki>)</nowiki></font>]] [[Special:Editcount/Halo-343|<font color="green"><nowiki>(</nowiki>'''Edits'''<nowiki>)</nowiki></font>]] 16:22, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

::I just checked both editions of the Encyclopedia. Nowhere does it stated that Boren's Syndrome is fake. All it says is that the side effect exhibited by ORION candidates was called Boren's Syndrome. Given that a bunch of colonist claimed to have it in Ghosts of Onyx, and that [[Rion Forge]]'s grandfather (Sgt. John Forge's father) died of it, I seriously doubt the disease is fake.
