The '''Redoubt of Sundering''' was a [[Banished]]-operated [[prisoner of war]]-processing facility established on [[Zeta Halo]] during the [[Battle for Zeta Halo]]. Recently captured [[UNSC]] personnel were brought here for processing before being shipped off to [[Chak 'Lok]]'s [[Tower]] for interrogation. ==History==
[[Sangheili]] [[Kaidon]] [[Thav 'Sebarim]] commanded the Redoubt of Sundering during the first six months of the Installation 07 conflict, with the help of a [[Unidentified Banished human inspector|Banished human inspector]].{{Ref/Novel|Id=TRP20|TRP|Chapter=20}} Numerous human captives, including [[Lucas Browning]], were sent here to be inspected and sorted. Prisoners deemed to be too badly injured or of no value were executed, typically by an [[Unggoy]] who threw [[methane]] canisters into their cells. Those who survived this culling were eventually transported to [[Chak 'Lok]]'s [[Tower]] for interrogation. Dead and dying [[SPARTAN-IV program|Spartans]] were also brought to the Redoubt to have their [[MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor|Mjolnir]] armor forcibly removed, after which the Banished guards would use their corpses for target practice or some other form of entertainment.{{Ref/Reuse|TRP20}}

At one point during this period, 'Sebarim sent a message to Chieftain [[Kalcuno]] threatening to send him to Chak 'Lok's Tower if the Chieftain continued failing to find the remaining UNSC humans on the ring.{{Ref/Reuse|That Which Remains}} Also at some point during this time, [[First Lieutenant]] [[Floyd (Installation 07)|Floyd]] contacted [[Giuseppe M.]] and proposed staging a rescue op to free the prisoners at the Redoubt, though it is unclear what ultimately became of this plan.{{Ref/Reuse|Last-Ditch Effort}}

On or after [[2560#May|May 28, 2560]], [[Master Chief Petty Officer|Master Chief]] [[John-117]] stormed the Redoubt of Sundering in order to free the marines held there. Despite facing heavy resistance from the Banished guards, including a trio of [[Shea'p-pattern plasma cannon|heavily armed]] [[Jiralhanae]] [[Jiralhanae Chieftain|Chieftains]], the Chief destroyed the three [[restraint generator]]s holding the marines captive. [[The Weapon]] then alerted the Chief to the presence of one remaining captive being held under heavy guard inside a central structure. The Chief and the liberated marines attacked this central structure, killed a [[Gravity hammer (fiction)|gravity hammer]]-wielding Chieftain and the other guards, and freed the [[squad]] leader imprisoned inside.{{Ref/Reuse|Redoubt of Sundering}}

With the fall of the Redoubt of Sundering, the Weapon noted that they were now two-for-two on gatecrashing prison camps, as the Chief had earlier stormed the Tower and [[The Tower|killed]] Chak 'Lok.{{Ref/Reuse|Redoubt of Sundering}}
