A '''plasma battery''' is a form of [[Covenant]] power cell. They were used by the Covenant to power all forms of equipment under the size of a [[capital ship]] or [[Covenant citadel|citadel]]. Plasma batteries encapsulate high-energy [[plasma]] in a containment cell and could be recharged from generators. Plasma batteries vary wildly in size and shape, but are among the most standardized components used by Covenant technology and have remained relatively unchanged in function for several centuries. They rely on internal mechanisms that are both arcane and highly dangerous to replicate.{{Ref/Book|Id=EN|Enc22|Page=221}}

The exact purpose of it is unknown, though it probably holds some sort of energy needed for Covenant vehicles, machines, and equipment. They also require a higher drop to detonate them on impact.
