The Gorespike bears a general resemblance to the {{Pattern|Skar'wa|Mantis}} anti-aerospace turret used by the [[Covenant]], and has a similar overall construction. It consists of a tripodal base, with a large cannon mounted atop the middle section where the three legs meet. The cannon's immense size allows them to have an interior hull and walkways for the gun's crew and defenders to walk around, with multiple balconies for [[sniper]]s to use as an overwatch position.
The [[Banished]] made use of Gorespike cannons in various locations across [[Installation 07]] during their [[Installation 07 conflict|occupation]] of the Halo.
