Indigenous to the planet Reach, the moa are species of flightless, bird-like creatures. The Covenant's glassing of Reach in 2552 drove the species to near-extinction, though small populations of moa remain in remote regions of the planet that went untouched during the invasion. Due to their popularity as both livestock and pets, moa were exported to other human colonies such as Tribute and Gannick 22. The current largest population of moa is owned by Have S'Moa, a petting zoo and restaurant founded by the entrepreneur Wiljax Brantley and known for moa-based products such as burgers and nuggets.
