Seeing as how possibly six beams hit him, it is ''highly'' unlikely that he would have survived contrary to previous ''Halo'' games and novels. If all six beams hit the Chief, then it should have killed him despite the fact that he had shields, thus it is likely he evaded more than one shot per the panel.
