In Firefight, players can activate night vision just like in the campaign. Spartan players have the default green night vision but Elites have a purple variant.

===Multiplayer===
Compared to [[Spartan_(multiplayer)#Halo:_Reach|Spartan]]s, Elites are faster, tougher (9 additional shield points and 5 additional health points), and can jump higher. They can also fully regenerate any lost health whereas Spartans can only do so in thirds (up to 33%, 67%, and 100% max health). During the multiplayer beta the [[armor ability]] [[evade]] was originally exclusive to Elites.

In multiplayer the “[[Elite]]” has 5 more shield points and 9 more health points than a normal “[[Spartan]]”, as well as having the ability to regenerate their health, which Spartans cannot do, and a faster movement speed. These advantages were put in place to counter the much bigger hit box the Elite character model has. With some Elite helmets the player has a substantially lower chance of getting shot in the head from the back as well.
