This article is about the Forerunner technology. For the MJOLNIR armor, see VIGILANT-class Mjolnir.

Vigilants were tiny Forerunner probes capable of entry into slipspace. Trillions of vigilants were used to form the quarantine shield around the San'Shyuum quarantine system by constantly weaving in and out of slipspace around the planet.[1] In this way, they could presumably monitor both slipspace and ordinary space simultaneously.
