History

Victor 933 was a United Nations Space Command Pelican dropship attached to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn in 2552. When the Autumn was shot down over Installation 04 that year, Victor 933 escaped intact, and was used by the Marines of Alpha Base as a transport. It appears however, that the Marines did not take any of the heavier UNSC weaponry, except for the shotguns that can be found on Easy Difficulty. It is found near the beginning of the level 343 Guilty Spark.

It was sent out with Captain Jacob Keyes and Second Squad in hopes of finding a Covenant weapons cache. Twelve hours after the last transmission from the Pelican, the Master Chief dropped into the swamp aboard Echo 419 and found the wreckage of Victor 933. Apparently, the Pelican had been ambushed on takeoff and crashed, or it came into contact with the visible trees near the crash site and crashed into the swamp.

The recording of the distress signal is loudest in the back of the passenger bay, by the cockpit. The door leading to the cockpit is closed however, and the message is likely a short-range radio-transmission, as it can be heard only in a short radius around the Pelican.

Trivia

• In earlier missions, such as the Silent Cartographer, the body used for Victor 933 is actually Bravo 022, the second Pelican which drops off Marine troops. You can see the label V-933 on the side haunch of the dropship. After you discover the location of the map room and you go out of the structure, you see a Pelican downed (the one who brings in a warthog and some rocket launchers), if you see the label on its side, it actually says V933.
