:The problem is, we have no difinitive rank scheme. The ranks that have been mentioned so far are all american ranks, but we don't know for sure if they are the only ranks. We've never seen a ''specific'', citeable chart depicting all the ranks. For all we know, there could be a "third lieutenant" or a "technical sergeant" in the Marine ranks. We just ''don't know for sure.''
