Thomas Sanatos is a scientist and a cultural anthropologist. He is married to Joanne Sanatos.

He helped his colleague, Dr. Jonas Volman in his research for a science textbook titled The Castaway Theory. Apparently, he was the first person that Volman called upon to help him with his research.
