Usage notes
To be used as a temporary notice in scrapped categories. This template automatically assigns pages to which it is placed into Category:Decommissioned categories.
If the decommissioned category is being replaced by a different one, add the name of the replacement category (without the "Category:" part!) as the first parameter. This adds information about the replacement category to the template:
{{Decommissioned category|New category name}}
So, for example, if the full title of the replacement category were "Category:New", one need only add the "New" part to this template.
