While the flashing red light atop the mine is quite visible, it can still catch unwary drivers off gaurd. Many "Forgers" often turn Landmines upside down and through the ground using the "Phased" setting, making an almost invisible and effective trap. Unless custom settings are used, all vehicles will be destroyed if they are within the blast radius of the mine.

*There were rumors that crouch-walking over the landmines prevents it from exploding; however this is not true.

A Landmine is a stationary explosive that is set to appear in Halo: Reach. Landmines may be placed in Forge Mode, and they’re an integral and multifaceted part of the overall experience of Race.[1] It functions similar to that of the trip mine, a usable equipment in Halo 3's Forge Mode and other Multiplayer experiences.
