Dr. John Smith was an ONI scientist working aboard the UNSC prison vessel, UNSC Mona Lisa in 2552. While aboard he studied several Flood-infected Elites in hopes of finding a cure to their disease. When the ship was overridden by the Flood, he remained hidden inside a small room until he was discovered by Lopez's sqaud. He was killed while aboard the ship.[1]
