Halo: Uprising Issue Three is one of the Halo: Uprising series that, although delayed, it was released on August 13, 2008. It is the third of four in the series of comics.

Plot Summary

The "Key of Osanalan" is revealed to be a fictional object made up by Ruwan Ackerson, and his brother, James Ackerson. Colonel Ackerson spoke of the "key" and divulged this false information to save the life of Ruwan. Ruwan and Myra are saved by a team of Marines and escape the city.

Meanwhile, Master Chief is found by a Jackal and shot. He falls many stories before landing in front of a procession of Brutes guarding the prophet. Truth escapes and the Chief is left to fight dozens of Covenant. He defeats them all and starts to find a way off the Forerunner Dreadnought.

Short Summary

Official Marvel Summary: The Earth is burning!!! Humans are running for their lives, caught in a war they did not start. How can two star-crossed lovers find their way to happiness when everything and everyone they knew is being destroyed around them?? And will the Master Chief discover the mysterious “key” that could end the war in time to save what is left of humanity?

Trivia

  • The Gravity Hammer Master Chief is holding on the cover is deactivated, since the Hammer is not emitting its characteristic blue glow. This likely means that at some point in the battle with the Covenant forces now lying dead at his feet the Hammer ran out of power and Chief was forced to use it simply as a bludgeon.
