Captain Donald was the third captain of the Phoenix-class colony ship, the Spirit of Fire, succeeding Captain Rehkov in 2491.[1] Under Captain Donald, the Spirit of Fire aided in the UNSC's interstellar expansion efforts by transporting colonists and equipment for colonization, including pre-fabricated structures such as schools and hydroponics facilities.[2] Captain Donald served until 2499 and his or her position was then filled by Captain Johnson. By at least 2531, Donald's name and the period of his or her service as captain were painted onto the side of the Spirit of Fire's hull.
