Data module

A data module is a small, personal, portable computer with numerous functions utilized by the Kig-Yar. They are similar to a human data pad.[1] They can be used to store information and files. Data modules contain job listings and contracts available for Kig-Yar.[2] They also store location data, containing coordinates and descriptions to various locations in known space.[3] Banking could be done on a data module. One individual would send currency to another module. As soon as signal from the first module reached the second, the second individual's bank balance would be updated.[4]
Following the Human-Covenant War, most data modules needed data updating since they previously relied on Covenant sources. As such, they had little information on human colonies.[5]
