This Unknown Covenant Explosive is a Covenant explosive device that was in use during the Battle of Ariel in 2552.[1] The grenade has a similar appearance to a Covenant antimatter charge, and may be a miniaturized form of the explosive. It is possible that it is the Anti-Matter Charge that Sangheili Rangers use to breach the hulls of UNSC ships.
The spikes present on the explosive's exterior may be to make the action of moving or picking up the grenade difficult.
