The UNSC Herodotus was a UNSC Destroyer that saw action at the Battle of Reach. During the battle it was destroyed by a Covenant Supercruiser using a previously unknown weapon. This weapon projected a needle-thin beam of charged energy particles from a distance of one hundred thousand kilometers that bisected the ship from bow to stern and would later become known as an Energy Projector. It is unknown on whether or not there were any survivors. [1]
