The [[Assassin Medal]] is awarded and achieved for [[melee]]ing an opponent from behind. It is available in all [[Multiplayer]] gametypes and has a [[Bungie]] difficulty rating of 2 out of 10. It is represented by a ninja face on a shuriken star after you kill an opponent by meleeing the player in the back, a message appears on your screen that states: "You assassinated (player's name)". The Assassin Medal is also a medal in the [[Halo 3]] campaign when Campaign Scoring is turned on and activated in the Meta Game. It is a very common occurence in multiplayer.  

*It is possible for two players to assassinate ''each other.'' This happens mostly when one of the players jumps over the other, the on below looks up and melee's whilst the one flying over looks down and melee's if timed perfectly they will assasinate "each other."

*A funny way to assassinate someone is to jump right before he/she tries to assassinate you. Once you jump, you melee and you will assassinate the would-be assassin. This can sometimes be difficult to perform, but your radar can be a good tool when attempting this.
