I think it must be digital because it gets added to over time. MAC orbital platforms didn't exist until Eric Nylund thought them up for TFoR, and now they're part of the universe. --Dragonclaws^(talk) 22:18, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm not so sure about the existence of it considering that the Halo 2 bonus disc, which came with the collectors edition of Halo 2, reveals that Halo 2 was supposed to be the conclusion and that there were 10 levels that took you out into the universe and back, but Bungie eventually scrapped it.
