:For Outskirts and Metropolis, you don't drive the Warthog to the end of the tunnel. You get out when you're almost there and walk the rest of the way. Then you get to keep your previous weapons. Arby116

For example a rocket launcher (and maybe Sniper Rifle, I can't exactly remember) will not carry over; it will result in you starting the new level with default weapons. For Outskirts and Metropolis, you don't drive the Warthog to the end of the tunnel. You get out when you're almost there and walk the rest of the way. Then you get to keep your previous weapons. Arby116

It depends on which weapons you are carrying. For example a rocket launcher (and maybe Sniper Rifle, I can't exactly remember) will not carry over; it will result in you starting the new level with default weapons.
