A Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) is a rating system used in the UNSC Armed Forces to describe and explain the job specialty of specific personnel. Different services, such as the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps, use different ratings, but all have a system to classify personnel based on their occupation.[2][3]
Potential volunteers are recruited into service with the Marine Corps' Orbital Drop Shock Troopers because of the individual's performance within their chosen Military Occupational Specialty.[2] According to Frederic-104, tracking is a basic component of any Spartan-II MOS.[1] The daily training of all Spartan-IVs includes two hours of MOS training.[4]
