Pretty much yeah. For what it's worth, it's something where we'd prefer an image of just the raw model/textures, but unfortunately we dont have that available. Should a better one appear, I'd be deleting that image pretty quickly.

Apologies, one of the links didn't send properly. The link should be PRESERVE-class Mjolnir

Hi. The two additional ones you uploaded from Halo 4 were deleted, as one was almost identical to the one currently in use on the page (minimising duplicate images is always a good thing) and the other wasnt being used at the time.

As for your question. We only allow images to be uploaded from official sources (Games, comics, official artwork from books like Mythos or Warfleet, developer-uploaded images etc) and very rarely direct model rip screenshots when necessary (usually in relation to development or cut-content related articles - see PRESERVE-class MJOLNIR for an example of this, where it's in relation to a cut armour set).

Source Filmmaker would classify, for our purposes, as fan-art, and thus wouldn't be allowed to be uploaded. It's a tricky line to draw as you could argue that simply displaying the model would be fine but presenting it in a fan art context would not be - this would cause a lot of debate as to what fan-created images are allowed to be uploaded, so we have a hard rule against uploading fanart to the mainspace articles, to make sure there's absolutely no issues. Similarly, if I were to rip a model from a Halo game and render it in Marmoset Toolbag or Unreal Engine, these would similarly count as fan renders, and wouldn't be applicable for use in our main space.

However, you are more than free to upload such images for use on your personal userpage! I'll leave a link to our Media policy should you want more information. I'd also encourage you to join our Discord server, as we have a pretty active userbase who can help with other queries.

Thanks!

It's no worries, just letting you know for future reference!

Hi, I noticed you have uploaded several images for the Librarian page. Unfortunately, I have had to delete them, as Halopedia does not allow Source Filmmaker images to be uploaded on the site. It would be great if you could refrain from uploading images like this in the future.

In addition, when naming files, please follow the format of Source_Subject.jpg. An image of the Librarian from Halo 4 would use the filename H4_Librarian.jpg, for example. This allows us to use bot accounts to do a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to image organisation work. Lastly, please remember to fill out the upload form when uploading images, as it provides licensing information and so forth!

Thank you
