File talk:H2A-MarathonHeavyCruiser.png

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

I notice this image was added to the UNSC Canberra page. Where is it stated that this particular Marathon is the Canberra? I didn't revert the edit right away as it's possible it comes from an obscure source like the 3D artist's portfolio, but a confirmation would still be nice. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 10:30, 8 March 2015 (EDT)

Welp looks like I jumped the gun. Actually its the UNSC Pillar of Autumn according to the artists Art Station profile. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/halo-2-anniversary-spaceships I was told it was the Canberra, but it appears that is not the case! I guess it needs a name change as well because the PoA is of the Halcyon variety. SamGall (talk) 17:13, 8 March 2015 (EDT)
I don't think the model on ArtStation is a Halcyon. Perhaps, they used the Marathon model for the Autumn. But from my perspective, that's a Marathon. I could be wrong. - NightHammer (talk) 17:19, 8 March 2015 (EDT)
No, that's definitely a Marathon. We saw the Autumn in its accurate appearance as a Halcyon in Anniversary, and this model is a match for the Marathon on close inspection. I think the artist made a mistake. I was baffled when he referred to it as the Autumn in the article. I think he my have confused the two types given their similarities, but I am 100% positive this is the Marathon.262VigilantGuardian (talk) 17:31, 8 March 2015 (EDT)
This is definitely the updated Marathon and not the Pillar of Autumn. It may be understandable from the artist's point of view, however. In the original Halo 2, because the new cruiser design was briefly, and inaccurately, a stand-in for the Autumn during the cutscene at Reach, the model file for the new cruiser was literally "POA.model". I guess Bungie at the time hadn't decided to name it anything on its own, not even generically 'human_cruiser' or something. If H2A's files mimic the originals, then the new Marathon may still be labeled POA for all I know. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 17:50, 8 March 2015 (EDT)
