Biography
Favorite Halo moment

The opening stages of the Battle of Earth in Halo 2 - first three levels, the UNSC going to war with the Covenant over Earth and on the streets of Mombasa. Loads of tight engagements and fun set pieces fighting as part of the human war machine. Same goes for Tip of the Spear and The Storm in Reach and 3 respectively.

Worst Halo moment

Halo? Worst? These two words don't fit together in my mind.

Anything else

Pfft, dunno. I'll think of somethin'. Someday.

This is the superconducting heat sink. It does not distribute heat around the capsule, which completely enters the atmosphere, but dissipates it around the body.

Fire is a low-temperature plasma. Built-in radiators together with a metal grille direct the fire along the body.

CINDER-class Mjolnir Body description: Used by Spartan special containment teams, CINDER armor features thermal superconducting coatings and a reinforced shock-absorbing gel layer to mitigate the risk of using thermobaric and incendiary weapons at close range.

ODST M9407 drop pod: In the years following the human-Covenant war, the UNSC partnered with experienced military contractors to make a number of improvements to the drop pod platform. Advancements and improvements include (but are not limited to) more reliable in-flight communications, more powerful maneuver thrusters and limited inertial compensation, a new air brake design, significantly improved structural integrity with the incorporation of new metal matrix composites, and thermal superconducting elements incorporated into the composite heatshield. The internal harness of all post-war drop pods is also highly configurable, with hookups and system interlinks compatible with the latest ODST battledress and Spartan Mjolnir variants.

Just a radiator built into the armor would not be very effective. It is easier to remove heat from where there is no armor. In addition, there are several quotes that indicate that UNSC had some kind of electromagnetic armor:

halowaypoint: "This Autumn-class Heavy Cruiser represents a considerable leap forwards in human warship design, and is a testament to the UNSCs post-Covenant War technological prowess. Using improvements and modifications made to the Halcyon-class light cruiser for Operation: RED FLAG as a starting point, the naval architects at SinoViet Heavy Machinery have added energy shield-reinforced armor, powerful fusion drives, long-range targeting matrixes, and a state-of-the art magnetic accelerator cannon. These new weapons and systems are continually being improved to give the UNSC a competitive edge in battles against Covenant remnants and other threats that may yet arise." halo: warfleet: "Shield-Reinforced Armor: The Autumn-class vessels feature a novel variation of electromagnetic armor that incorporates a distributed array of small shield generators, which are cheaper and easier to manufacture. When the outer Titanium-A hull plates are hit, sensors within the armor trigger the nearest generator, creating an intense, transient energy shield effect localized on the point of impact." page 24: "The Pillar of Autumn's hull is wrapped in plates of the latest Titanium-A ablative armor plating."
