Should CAPT Richards be moved to ONI Special Operations, as it is never mentioned that she is in command of all UNSC Special Forces (hardly a job for an O-6). Also there doesn't seem to be a central command like SOCOM in the Halo Universe that we see. Also she is referred to as Special Operations. Should this page be renamed UNSC Special Operations Forces, as it deals with many different units, and in the real world only Army Green Berets are referred to as special forces (and Halo appears to be following US conventions).

:I agree with that. Considering that she's said to head ONI Special Operations, it's more than likely a different organization than UNSC Special Forces Command. [[User:Kcin117|Kcin117]] ([[User talk:Kcin117|talk]]) 16:31, 8 July 2018 (EDT)

Shouldn't this be more of a disimbauguation page because of the fact that there hasn't been a "UNSC MARSCOM" mentioned anywhere and seeing as how Projects Spartan-II and III fall under ONI/NAVSPECWAR? Just pointing out that in Nylund's Fall of Reach and Ghosts of Onyx novels the abbreviation NavSpecWep is used rather than NavSpecWar.

Spartan-IVs

Where do the spartan-IVs fit in to all of this? Would the be part of Naval Special Warfare Command, or Unified Special Warfare Command? --Weeping Angel (talk) 18:31, 20 April 2014 (EDT)

Neither. The SPARTAN-IVs have are their own special operations branch. --Our vengeance is at hand. Gravemind.svg (Talk to me.) 21:40, 20 April 2014 (EDT)
Spartan-IVs are neither Navy, Marines, Army, nor Air Force. They have their own service branch in the UNSC. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 19:31, 20 April 2014 (EDT)
So there is no unifying special forces group to put them in? Given the fact that USW contains not only army, but also marines, it is possible that there is one Special Forces group that contains units from all or several divisions. I was wondering if we have any data on the spartan IVs? being involved in anything like that? Based on your responses, I would guess not. --Weeping Angel (talk) 22:23, 20 April 2014 (EDT)
It's certainly an interesting question. Based on the Encyclopedia, which also introduced the UNICOM-NAVCOM structure as one of its few original canon bits, all UNSC forces fall under one or the other command organization (though it doesn't say much about individual branches - which command is the Air Force part of, for instance?). But since the Spartan branch is all sorts of weird and anarchic it's certainly possible they don't answer to anyone in the conventional command hierarchy, apart from HIGHCOM. This does also bring up the question of who exactly coordinates them on a larger scale, apart from their component commanders like Palmer. Or who liaises with the other branches and/or HIGHCOM and possibly Special Warfare command organizations. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 03:46, 21 April 2014 (EDT)

ONI Special Operations - CAPT Annabelle Richards

Should CAPT Richards be moved to ONI Special Operations, as it is never mentioned that she is in command of all UNSC Special Forces (hardly a job for an O-6). Also there doesn't seem to be a central command like SOCOM in the Halo Universe that we see. Also she is referred to as Special Operations. Should this page be renamed UNSC Special Operations Forces, as it deals with many different units, and in the real world only Army Green Berets are referred to as special forces (and Halo appears to be following US conventions).
