I went ahead and explained the afterimage effect.  I didn't go into detail, but since time stops, you basically see the light left over that the person emitted I believe.  Also, I changed how they are transported, as it is made clear in Ghosts that the pods themselves may be transported and therefore the people;  also, I added that as of now, it is uknown by the UNSC how to disable or release the inhabitants of the pods.

I went ahead and explained the afterimage effect. I didn't go into detail, but since time stops, you basically see the light left over that the person emitted I believe.
