Where did you get the Hud Rumnt?I'm really curious about that part.Halo3 19:41, 15 January 2007 (UTC)--Halo3
:The Halo 2 Prophet of Mercy Exclusive action figure box description is where that little detail came from. -ED 20:33, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I wonder if he's going to be in Halo 3, even though he's dead. If he's a Prophet Form, he could be in Halo 3, but the actor died. But then again, Julie Benz isn't gonna be Miranda Keyes in Halo 3, so you never know. Epeu
I think he will be a Prophet form like Regret. I sense
Mercy's Last Words
You know Mercy's last line before he died? When he said that "None of you will be left behind." to the Master Chief? Why do you think he would say those words to the Chief who is his enemy? - 49_Harboring_Enmity 19:36, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
:Even though Truth had betrayed him, he still believed in the Covenant and was gloating. He knew something about the Forerunners leaving humanity behind when they went on their 'Great Journey', and was implying that humanity would be wiped out before the Covenant ascend to godhood. --Dragonclaws(talk) 21:58, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

:: Really? I thought he was revealing that he didn't actually think that the humans were unworthy and that they would ascend to godhood just like the Covenant. From his tone it didn't seem to me like he was gloating at all, but he instead sounded at peace. I thought the scene was supposed to show that Mercy was a good person who honestly believed in salvation for all and the promise of the Great Journey. After he witnessed Mendicant Bias claim that the humans were "his makers", he may have come to believe that the humans were also worthy to go on the Great Journey because they were related to the Forerunners and may have been left behind by accident, unlike Truth, who thought that the humans were left behind because they were weak Forerunners. (Regret seemed to be afraid that the humans were "living gods" and would replace the Prophets in the Covenant.) However, he was dominated by the stronger personalities of the other Hierarchs.
:: So I actually view the Master Chief's killing of Mercy as an act of mercy, rather than violence. Mercy was going to die anyway, but instead of letting him die a slow, agonizing death at the hands of the Flood (as Truth had done), the Master Chief decided to kill him quickly, so that he wouldn't have to suffer. This of course is ironic, as John-117 is performing an act of mercy towards the dying Prophet of Mercy, whose own sense of mercy was questionable in life.--User:Webspidrman 23 January 2010 (UTC)
::: That is an extremely good point. If we look in the books and games Mercy never was part of any anti-human battles. It was always Truth and Regret ordering the killing.--Sgt.T.N.Biscuits 04:38, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
Wait, how did the Master Chief kill him? --98.119.13.219 04:58, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
:John didn't kill him. Mercy fell victim to a flood infection form.--Sgt.T.N.Biscuits 05:05, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
:: Yeah, Master Chief just removes the Flood Infection Form from Mercy, which automatically kills him. I probably should have been a little more clear. --User:Webspidrman 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Note: He says: "This time none of you will be left behind", that might imply that he meant it the way theorised by Webspiderman, and that he actually meant the time when the Humans "was left behind". H91 19:59, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
:he was referring to Regret's first attack on earth which failed 02:32, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
:Actually, I think that he was referring to when the Forerunners fired the ring, leaving the humans alive on shield worlds. Foop46 02:00, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
So...
This article states that Mercy was elected before Truth or Regret were even born. However, according to the epilogue of Contact Harvest, all three were elected at the same time (before they were known as Minister of Fortitude, Vice Minister of Tranquility, and the Philologist. Is there a source for his election, or is this speculation on their relative ages? How do we reconcile this conflict? P03 James 02:29, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
He was elected high prophet at the same time , but not to the council-croix129
:This is very true, he could serve on the council as a lesser prophet. --EDFile:ArmyROTC.gif|15px]] 01:04, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
You'll notice as a philologist he is the leader for all of the Ascetic priests, which is a position very likely to be one within the council itself. After all, what is more important than religion to the Covenant?InnerRayg 01:05, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Move
Suggest moving to "Hod Rumnt". "Prophet of Mercy" is a title, one that is not set in stone. We do not put ranks in article titles, why this? --Dragonclaws(talk) 01:40, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
:The naming of a prophet appears to be a rite of passage and based on what the Prophet chose to be called. Mercy may have been named "Hod Rumnt" when he was born and before he became hierarch, but he chose the new name for himself when he took the position, similarly to how the Pope takes on a new name when he is elected pope, leaving his birth name behind. --EDFile:ArmyROTC.gif|15px]] 23:27, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
::Oh, okay, that makes sense. --Dragonclaws(talk) 01:00, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Why the hell would anyone think that Hod Rummit is a prophet, theyed bloody think it would be some kind of Fuel Rod or Grunt, and about all the prophets? No ONE CAN SEE THEM, see the screenshot in the page "The Heretic (Level)" Theres Truth, but it looks like some kind of Covenant angry! You cant see their faces or anything.Sauronas Churchill
:Where does Hod Rumnt even come from? The site given redirects to http://www.johnnylightning.com, which just has a bunch of toy adds. And can anyone confirm that site it may have once linked to contained legit info? We can't use anything that wasn't put out by Bungie.--Darth Oblivion 02:00, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
::Sorry, didn't see the top of this page. In any case, the link doesn't go to where it's supposed to.--Darth Oblivion 02:02, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
It says his name in Halo:contact Harvest.
Title
Currently, the Halo topic that interests me the most is the Covenant, mainly the High Prophets and Arbiter. I have always wanted to know their names. At least I know the name of one now! Hope some light will be shed on the names of Truth and Regret somewhere along in the story! What I would like to suggest is that this page be titled with the character's actual name. That seems a bit more proper. Reply if you agree that Prophet of Mercy should be retitled Hod Rumnt. == Brother ==
I would like to note the traitourus son of a bitches last words to Mercy "the great journey waits for noone BROTHER, not even you" could this mean that Mercy is truths (much) older brother? or is he just being poetic? probobly the second but just putting the possibility in eeryones mind. Gunnery-sergeant Maiar 08:29, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Religous people call everyone else brother, so how does that make them brothers? By the way its spelt no one not noone. FishType1 10:39, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
:That would be the really "into-it" religions, if you know what I mean...funny, I was taught to spell it "no-one". Dose the spelling realy make a difference?
Appearently it doesn't to you, as you above writes "does" as "dose", no offence. H91 19:55, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
New Profile Image?
Do we have a new image for Mercy's profile yet? He's the only one of the three hierarchs not to have an updated main image yet.262VigilantGuardian (talk) 20:39, 13 November 2014 (EST)
