I dont know if this is relevant but I looked up Mike coulter and Mike is black. Should we put that Locke is black?- B312

Well, I don't think we usually do it. However, adding a photo of the actor may be a good idea. Imrane-117 (talk) 13:42, 18 June 2014 (EDT)
Trivial. The same reason why Jun and Romeo didn't have their ancestry/skin color listed in the color. A picture of the actor (i.e. a profile pic) is also unnecessary since we'll eventually have a photo of him playing as Locke soon.— subtank 14:06, 18 June 2014 (EDT)

Current rank

I was just wondering if Lieutenant Commander was his rank in 2552 or 2558. I'm not saying we should remove this mention, the article is fine as it is now. But the report he made clearly stated "Thel 'Vadamee, Supreme Commander, Fleet of Particular Justice". None of these mentions would suit a report made after the war. I would also assume that this report was "actually" accessed by the Master Chief at some point in Halo 2 Anniversary (2552), as the Halo 4 Essential Visual Guide also confirmed that he had actually accessed the terminals in Halo 3 et Halo 4 (same thing with Noble Six and the data pads). So Locke compiled his report during the war and it was accessed by the Chief in 2552. Later scenes (when Thel is Arbiter) might be accessible in later terminals, as CEA did have Covenant terminals. As for the Arbiter's speech during the trailer... Perhaps it's not really in the terminals (like Guilty Spark's speech in the CEA terminals trailer) and it could be in his discussion with Locke ("Your" Master Chief calls me friend). So basically Locke's rank may not be the same in Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 5. Again, I'm not suggesting to change the article, I just wanted to know your opinion on this. At least we know he's ONI, so "Spartan" is not his rank. Imrane-117 (talk) 16:09, 9 July 2014 (EDT)

I always thought that he complied the reports around 2558 and was meeting with 'Vadam for information on his backstory. However, the report is about 'Vadam during the war, so his name and rank during the war was used instead. Though I could be wrong. - NightHammer (talk) 16:52, 9 July 2014 (EDT)
It's definitely a bit unclear when Chief accessing the file takes place or when the content does; here's the Forum section for this. I suspect that even if it was 2552, he is probably still the same rank. It would be a bit silly to reveal his full name and rank (in a fairly off-handed, unimportant place), then change that rank as soon as he's seen in the present. Lieutenant-Commander is pretty high-ranking already, so I doubt he would have moved up even if it was 2552. Alex T Snow (talk) 20:20, 9 July 2014 (EDT)

Spartan generation

I don't believe it has been expressly stated by 343i that Locke is indeed a SPARTAN-IV. The only evidence that we would have to suggest he is a Four is his MJOLNIR GEN 2 armor typically seen on these troops whereas Two's continue to use Mark VI. Seeing how we know that certain Threes, such as Noble Team, utilized Mark V, and a Two wore SPI, we know that your generation doesn't necessarily determine which armor you're equipped with. Mike Colter, Locke's actor, is 37 and an Alpha Company SIII could be in their mid-30's. Simply put, we shouldn't simply assume that he's a SPARTAN-IV until we know for certain, which I'm sure he is, but you can never be too safe. Helianthus All right. Shoot!

I agree, the mention of him being a SPARTAN-IV should be removed until we get a confirmation of what he is.--Spartacus TalkContribs 18:12, 22 July 2014 (EDT)
Although it isn't absolute proof he's a SPARTAN-IV, the fact he has a surname would suggest he is. Then again, there are a number of Spartans who have surnames. 82.27.24.49 07:16, 15 August 2014 (EDT)

Spartan during Nightfall?

Does anyone agree that Locke doesn't really look like a Spartan in Nightfall? I know it's speculation, and would be more appropriate on a forum page, but he does appear to be the same general size as all the other people, including the Sedran Colonial Guard members. 82.27.24.49 07:16, 15 August 2014 (EDT)
