Dr. Jonas Volman is a genetics professor and the author of The Castaway Theory, a book dealing with unanswered questions in human origins. He is currently in an independent research in the field of genetics for a new textbook titled "The Places the Earth Stands Still" which will expand the information of his previous work. His colleague, Thomas Sanatos, worked on The Castaway Theory research with Dr. Jonas Volman. Additionally, Thomas was the first person that Volman called upon to help him with his research.

Apparently, sometime after the publication of his textbook, Jonas went missing in November 2005 but returned in August 2007.
